With the aim of bringing its services closer to the public in a more efficient and transparent manner, the launch of the newly created official website of the Ministry of Labour, equipped with modern technology and many improved services, took place on the afternoon of 11 September 2026 at the Ministry of Labour, Mehewara Piyesa, Narahenpita.

This new website, launched under the chairmanship of the Deputy Minister of Labour, Mr. Mahinda Jayasinghe, provides many facilities to the public. It enables easy access to accurate information on revised labour laws, as well as various programs and projects implemented by the Ministry. The website also allows the downloading of applications, Wages Board decisions, gazette notifications, and circulars related to the labour sector, including matters concerning the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF).

Accessible via mobile phones and computers, the website is available in all three languages—Sinhala, Tamil, and English. It also provides the facility for employees to submit complaints online regarding their rights and workplace issues.

The website can be accessed through www.labourmin.gov.lk. Through this portal, the public can also access the websites of the Department of Labour, Department of Manpower and Employment, National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health, and the National Institute of Labour Studies under the Ministry. Implemented as part of the digitization of public services, this project enables the public to obtain many essential services without physically visiting the Ministry.

Concurrently with the launch of the website, the facility for online checking of the progress of claims applications (Check Claim Status) submitted by members to receive Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) benefits through the Digital EPF service was also inaugurated. Officials of the Ministry of Labour and the Department of Labour were present at the launch ceremony.
